Any man who wears boots (and who doesn't own a pair of shoes) needs to have a good standard pair of black cowboy boots. Well, I have several pairs. Pictured below are my oldest pairs of black dress cowboy boots. Newer pairs are shown here.

The boots shown below are made by Dan Post. Pair #2 are about 30 years old, and were my first pair of "Sunday go-to-meetin' " dress cowboy boots. As you will see, they've needed some cleaning. These boots are great with a suit as with a pair of denim jeans.
