My partner, the good-hearted soul that he is, found a pair of Justin "Renegade" Boots (model 2553) on Amazon that said that they were built with orthotic inserts -- just what he thought would help me with a slight problem with plantar fasciitis in my left foot. He bought them for me in July, 2012.
The boots are a dull black, 13 inches high with a 1-1/2 inch heel, and a rubber sole. (My partner thought I would like that for use while riding my motorcycle, but the soles are not nearly as good as Vibram lug soles for traction.) The label says they are made with "deer cow," whatever that is.
These boots do not have an orthotic insert -- they just have a soft spongy insole. They are comfortable enough. But caveat emptor-- the boots are not made of all leather. Notice in the image of the printing inside the boot shaft: the boots are made with "leather uppers" (meaning the foot is made of leather), and "balance manmade" (meaning the shaft is made of synthetic materials.) And worse, the boots are made in China. You get what you pay for! These boots were cheap, for a reason. So much for an American label -- this is proof that not all boots made by Justin are made in the USA.
No worries, I thanked my partner for his thoughtfulness. He did not know what he was getting. The price was too good to be true.
Made in China and with cheap materials proof:
