I've been into Dehner boots since watching CHiPs and seeing Ponch and Jon in their Dehners and uniforms, as well as continuing to see them on motor officers at various events. Yeah, I even assembled my own replica CHP uniform to wear with my Dehners.
I got my first pair of Dehner boots in the early '80s, and my latest in 2010. Unfortunately, the quality of stock Dehner boots could be better. The shafts of stock Dehners are made of a plastic material called "Dehcord" that can crack and break. Custom Dehners are made of European calf leather, which are much better in quality, but are expensive. Other brands are available, and I have many of them. Click here for a complete Guide to Motor Patrol Boots for a comprehensive review of motor patrol boots. Even though there are less expensive alternatives available, there's nothing quite like the style and appearance of Dehners, nor how they feel on the legs. The feeling of these boots on my legs is not duplicated by any other motorcycle boots I own. Here are links with pictures of each of the pairs of Dehner boots that I own.
