Generally speaking, I have sufficient engineer boots in my collection. However, these boots were surplussed and I got them for only US$20. They are made in China, so I probably got what I paid for.
The boots are labeled "Guide Gear" which is a U.S. outdoor recreation goods retailer. The boots are 14" tall, and have a moderate lug sole. They feature zippers which make it easier to put them on and take them off. They look good, and are comfortable. The calf circumference is narrower than Chippewa Engineer Boots, and while there is a buckle at the top of the shaft for adjustment, the inside calf lower down is what I'm talking about being narrow. Because of that, I am unable to wear them with jeans or leathers tucked into them. But they look great with pants over.
