On some occasions when I have attended leather fetish events, I have enjoyed wearing chaps with codpiece underchaps. Underchaps are like shorts, and fit under the chaps to cover the front and back in leather, but then let the chaps cover the legs. They're comfortable, and very handy.
I got these codpiece underchaps from Mr. S. Leather of San Francisco. The codpieces fitted to a standard snap fitting work with these underchaps as they work with the full leather codpiece pants that I have. The various codpieces that I own are shown here, too. Soft leather, zippered, camo leather and chain mail.
