This is a plain black Muir Cap that I have owned since the early 1980s and found again in 2009 in a box in the back of my leather gear closet.
It is an old-style genuine black leather cap, with a solid black shiny peak, silver mylar band across the front brim, and plain black buttons. It is peaked such that you wear it low over the brow -- and wearing it that way gives a mysterious, old-school "Leatherman's Look." The Muir Cap that I have worn for years has been adorned with a metal chain and eagle badge on the front. This cap, pictured below, only has a nickel chain across the front. The color of the chain indicates that I am purely a Top, and don't switch.
