Booted Harleydude's Boot Closet
I was born in boots. I wear boots all the time. I don't own a pair of shoes! I ride a Harley and wear a variety of motorcycle boots with my functional leather gear. When not riding my Harley, or when going to work or meetings, I wear cowboy boots. A complete list of all boots in my collection is here.
If you want to know more about how to construct storage for your boots, read the tutorial I wrote on boot storage on hotboots.com, here.
Scroll down for a view of my boot collection and how I store them. Because boots are an avocation as well as regular footwear, I move them around regularly from basement to bedroom storage areas, as well as on my feet!
Section 1: My basement boot closet. I built a small room when I finished our basement. There are built-in shelves against one wall, where I store 50 pairs of boots. There are 13 pairs of taller boots stored against the back wall, and 30 pairs of boots (short on top, tall on bottom) stored on shelves on another wall.
Section 2: My garage hanging storage. There are two bars against a wall in my garage, on which I have hung 14 pairs of boots that I don't wear as often.
Section 3: My bedroom closet. A quarter of one of my closets is dedicated to boots. 29 pairs are stored on shelves and on the closet floor. I also have about ten pair of boots on the floor on the opposite side of the closet. (When I built my house, I built plenty of closets!)

Section 4: Not pictured (yet)
I have about 16 pairs of boots that are stored in a few other places, such as my partner's closet or my leather gear closet. Some boots that I just can't wear any more are in boxes, and eventually will be sold on eBay or otherwise moved out and deleted from my collection.
