Booted Harleydude's Harley

2008 Harley-Davidson FLHR (Road King Classic)

I saved long and hard to achieve my goal of buying a new Harley without having to take out a loan. This is a Road King Classic, designed for touring and enjoying a comfortable ride. I had to change the bars so the bike would fit me better, and add a driver's back rest to improve the comfort. I enjoy riding this bike with a group who go on many organized rides.

This bike handles very well due to its weight and low center of gravity, though it can be challenging to maneuver at slow speeds.

I have added a CB radio and a GPS to this bike to help me when I am leading group rides to avoid getting all of us lost. I also added motolights in the front and a full LED light bar in the back for added visibility.

I have not made any other changes to the bike -- it's great as it is. (I especially did not want the added weight of a larger engine displacement, or loud pipes.)

I enjoyed riding my Harley-Davidson FXDL (Dyna Low Rider) from 1994 - 2008.

Quick jump to videos of me riding this bike.

Note: I always wear a helmet when I ride my motorcycle, even in states where helmets are not required by law. In the pics below, I may be sitting on my bike without a helmet, but I'm not actually riding it -- just posing for some pics.
