Merrell Boots

The Merrell Company was originally founded in Indiana, USA. The company was started in 1981 with a focus on making hiking boots. The founder teamed up with Olympic skiing champions who combined skills to form a boot-making company.

The company was sold in 1987 to Kahru, a Finnish Sports company. In 1997, the company was sold to Wolverine Worldwide. Wolverine is an international conglomerate of many brands of boots and outdoor gear.

Merrell Boots are made in China (or other Asian countries) with materials and leathers sourced from unknown locations.

Styles of boots made: tactical, mountaineering, backpacking, hiking, trekking, and casual boots.

Value: Merrell boots no longer present good value because of where they are made and of generally poor construction and materials by mass-production Chinese sweatshops. The boots are cheap for a reason.

Availability: purchase in stores that cater to recreation and hunting interests.

Custom sizing: not available.

How to order: purchase in brick-and-mortar stores or from on-line retailers.
