These are short (stated 8 inches, but actual 7 inches) cheap Chinese-made tactical boots with the Merrell label. Merrell used to make great quality products in the USA, but has outsourced production to China and quality is not what it used to be with Merrell products.
Stated specs: Merrell M Select DRY impermeable membrane seals out water and lets moisture escape. Waterproof PU coated leather and ripstop textile upper. Medial side zip for easy on and off. Bellows tongue keeps out debris.
These boots are somewhat comfortable. The name "Moab" came from a town in Utah near Arches National Park, but has nothing to do with anything other than perhaps hiking. I bought them because they were very inexpensive and I thought perhaps I could wear them when I rode a motorcycle on a tour of Utah National Parks. However, these boots are not suitable for wear when riding a motorcycle because the soles are not oil resistant.
What I particularly like about these boots is that once you lace them up, you don't have to lace them again. Zippers on the side make them easy to put on and remove.
These boots have a modified waffle tread. The soles pack in mud and are very hard to clean.
