Station Boots

These Thorogood Station Boots were received as a gift while I was doing research about this type of boot for the Hot Boots Tutorial. They are about 8" high, have laces and a boot zipper. Once the zipper is laced in, you don't need to deal with laces any more. The soles are made of thick rubber tread, and are 1/2" thick, with a short heel. The soles are resistant to damage from water, oil, and chemicals. They're not waterproof, though (LOL!), and are not Vibram soles, so the traction is not nearly as good as found on Chippewa Firefighter Boots (which are much better quality, and are made in the USA).

I've learned why the guys in the local fire station like this style of boots so much. They are exceptionally comfortable. I use them when I do work around the house and on houses that I renovate, as work boots. I do not wear them while riding my Harley because the traction of the sole is not as good as found on my Chippewa Firefighter Boots.

Information about how to lace these boots is on the Boots Wiki, here.
