I bought these boots in February, 2017 from the company website. They appeared to be quite a bargain for boots made in Leon, Mexico, a place known as the "cowboy boot making capital of North America."
These boots are made of calf leather and the color is labeled as "desert," but it is equivalent to the light-orange "cognac" color seen on cowboy boots.
The boots are 12 inches tall, have a 1-1/2 inch heel, all leather sole, round toe, and traditional leather pull straps on the scalloped shaft. They are made in Mexico by an unknown contracted source. However, the natural welted and pegged construction shows care and quality. The leather is quite soft and comfortable to wear without break-in required.
Note: I learned over time that Tecovas Boots are made on lasts that do not match my Brannock measurement foot size of 10D. I have to get Size 11D Tecovas Brand boots. My first pair of Tecovas boots (Cartwrights, shown below) never fit me well, but I wore them too much before admitting my mistake, so I thought I could not return them under Tecovas' return policy. However, in February, 2020, I was able to work out an exchange for these boots in 11D and returned the 10D boots thanks to exceptional quality customer service from Tecovas. Now all of my Tecovas Boots fit me and I wear them proudly!
