2018 Chippewa
Firefighter Boots
Ruttman, Model 27422

I bought these boots when I heard what sounded like credible information that these boots had been discontinued by the manufacturer in November, 2018. The rumor has been found to be untrue; these boots are still made. However, I will keep and wear this pair as a backup. These are my absolute favorite and most comfortable boots to wear when I ride my Harley.

The boots are completely leather lined, have an EPS steel toe, ANSI 75 steel bottom plate, Kush-N-Kollar, and Vibram lug sole. They are about 9 inches tall. (The sole is 1.25 inches and the boot from the top of the heel to the top of the shaft is 8 inches.)

The unique design feature of these boots is the center zipper in the front, which makes them easy to pull on and take off. The zipper insert has two side laces that when adjusted once, don't need to be fooled with again.

These boots are my first choice to wear when I ride my Harley because they are so comfortable. Despite the leather lining, they don't get hot. I have worn them for very long days when riding my bike and my feet never hurt. This is why they are highly recommended on my Complete Guide to Motorcycle Boots.

Information and photos illustrating how to lace these boots is below and on the Boots Wiki, here.
