I am a biker, ride a Harley, and enjoy wearing leather for its warmth, safety, and versatility. Over the years, I have bought a number of pairs of leather chaps. When I'm out riding on a cool day, often I will want to wear chaps to ward off the cold.
The chaps shown here were made by Fox Creek Leather of Roanoake, Virginia. The unique feature of these chaps is that they have no waist band. There is a length of leather on each side that loops up over a belt that you're already wearing and snaps closed -- sort of holding them up by suspending them on your own belt. That makes them perfectly adjustable for the fit.
They are made of very thick, durable, cowhide. These chaps have outside zippers to avoid scratching the paint on my Harley.
The only downfall of these chaps is that they come in "one length to fit most." I guess I am not "most." While the manufacturer says, "the[chaps have the] option to make [them] longer or shorter with the snap adjustment. You may have to trim your chaps slightly to get the exact length you want." Well, yeah. I had to cut off 2.5 inches from the bottom of each leg. No adjustment with only snaps would work.
This is how these chaps work -- they hang on the belt you already wear
