Laredo Boots

Laredo Boots are a division of McRae Industries of Mt. Gilead, North Carolina, USA. They were invented by the Dan Post Boot Company to appeal to people seeking an affordable (aka “cheap”) boot for men, women, and children.

Lines: McRae Industries / Dan Post Boot Company makes Laredo Boots, John Deere Boots, Dingo Boots, Dan Post Boots, Code West Boots, Eldorado Boots and McRae Industrial boots.

Styles of boots made: cowboy boots.

Value: Laredo boots present moderate value the price paid. The boots are constructed of moderate quality leather and materials by mechanical methods. The quality is reported to be questionable by some people, but good by others. Beware: if an on-line ad says, “leather-like” shaft, or “leather uppers” – beware! That means that the boot shafts are made of synthetic materials, NOT leather. Boots made with synthetic materials cannot be recommended because they do not “breathe”, and often quickly crack, break, or otherwise deteriorate easily. While boots made with synthetic materials are inexpensive (compared with all-leather boots), the profit margin for boot manufacturers is much higher because the materials use to make the boots is one fifth the cost of real leather.

Availability: Many licensed third-party vendors sell Laredo Boots.

Custom sizing: Not available.

How to order: Try on and purchase in brick-and-mortar stores or from on-line vendors.
