I bought these black Chippewa Logger Boots on a great sale in April, 2015. These are style number 25411. I like this style of boots a lot. I have a pair in brown and also light tan (Bay Apache).
These boots are 9-inches high and have a cushioned ankle collar for comfort. These "super loggers" are waterproof, so they are useful in rotten weather.
Insulated with Thinsulate, they provide warmth and protection in snow. The boots lace up (including 4 speed lace hooks toward the top) and have a US Flag emblem in the lace at the toe. These are just plain black, and go well with jeans or black leather, as well. The leather is easily scuffed and scratched, but the scuffing is normal and adds character to the boot without harming the boot's integrity.
These boots have a black #1286 Tacoma Logger sole, which has a solid tread and big lugs. Unfortunately, the lugs cake up easily with dirt and mud, so they require frequent cleaning.
